Taking It Back

Photobucket

Italian wonk maestros 3 Is A Crowd are set to drop their epic bouncing masterpice 'Take It Back'. We've bagged some of the globe's most sought after remixers and the package should please everyone from nu-ravers to bassline heads to wobble fans alike.

Heavyfeet bring the rudest bassline we've heard in a long time with Finnish funkster Rico Tubbs getting old skool on us. Fidget fans get a slice of jackery from Kelevra and 2 Bit Thugs bring our trademark wobble.

All in all this looks set to do some serious damage and were pretty stoked. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for some exclusive tasters here soon.

Going Dutch with Mightfools

Photobucket

Andy Samin and Jelle Keizer take '90s rave influences and flip them with jacked up beats, bleeps and basslines. Using choppy tangles of sound, the duo known as Mightyfools embraces a forward house sound that keeps audiences guessing right up the next breakdown

So how was the Mightyfools name born? Keizer says it comes from their ability to work over crowds one party at a time. The mighty fools are Mighty on the decks and Fools for the music.

The Fools have been slaying people left right and centre with their unique brand of party fidget. We bagged the duo to do some remixes for us here at A New Hope Records and they didn't let us down! Check their remixes of Jackinori's Ba Bada and of Warboy's forthcoming ANH release 'London's Getting Dirty', amongst others.

The Mightyfools star is definitely rising with releases on Pottymouth, Crux and Electric Sushi to name a few. Check this wicked mix out to get a flavour of the Fools in action...

Getting rowdy with Atomic Hooligan

Photobucket

Holy shiz. We were lucky enough here at A New Hope Records to grab an interview with the badboys of bass Atomic Hooligan and quiz them about their plans for world domination, their involvement with us and their favourite cheese...

Are you really Hooligans? If so whats the most 'hooligan' thing you've ever done?
We are real hooligans. We will mash your head against our beats on a saturday night. But as for real hooligan antics we have done, ummm, I probably can't tell you alot of it. Probably none to be honest.

What's on the Menu menu?

We have a colabo track with Tim Healey (ex coburn) coming up called 'Look At You'. We also have the next Lady Waks & Rico Tubbs album; have a ton of remixes coming from that. Its all very exciting.

What's the future sound of now?
The future past and present is all BASS. Its simple really, give 'em bass and they will keep coming back.

Which artists/DJs are you into right now?
Rico Tubbs, 2 Bit Thugs, Fake Blood and anyone that is pushing the b-more bassline sound.

Thugs Vs Hooligan. We hear you're doing a remix of 2 Bit Thugs. Is this true?
Yes it is, soon come with the result, you will love it. I am into their stuff, and I'm looking forward to dropping it soon.

Playing live or DJing?
Both. I am a DJ first, before anything else, so I love what I do. But Playing live is a diffrent experience. We all get to travel together so there's a lot of jokes and good times, plus with the show... it's like watching your child say it's first words or take their first steps every time. Its a great feeling.

Atomic Hooligan plans for world domination are...
Keep doing what we have always done, keep on keeping on. We are on the remix trail now, looking for quality remixes to do and play in our sets.

Favourite cheese?
Anything my mate & Menu Music co Owner Jay Cuuning plays

Bang. There you have it. Keep your eyes peeled for Atomic Hooligan's undoubtedly filthy remix of 2 Bit Thugs 'A Good Look' coming soon on A New Hope Records.

You can catch the Hooligans tearing up festivals and clubs worldwide with their rawkus DJ sets and killer live outfit.

What's The Story Jackinori

Photobucket

Dont be fooled by his impish good looks Jackinori makes filth. Sickeningly, he's only been producing music for a short time but you won't be able to tell from the results. His recent A New Hope Records release 'Ba Bada' is racing up the charts, accompanied by a string of quality remixes and his recent tracks are sending shockwaves through the scene.

He first burst into the world of wobble with his flith-ridden jackin' version of Fatboy Slim's 'Star 69' and has since earnt himself a rep as a quality producer and remixer.

We've begged, pleaded and bribed him with shiny objects into doing some tracks for us and by the power of Grayskull you won't be disappointed. This kid is for real! Check the tracks below and brace yourselves...

Matt Cox in the Wobbly House

Photobucket

Matt Cox is a master of wobble. Fact. But rather than us just sing his praises here's a few choice words from the man himself...

Hey, who are you and what would your mother have to say about you?
Yoyoyo, im matt cox and I make really horrible bass sounds. My mum would say im deaf and probably need to get my ears tested!

Why did you choose to get into music?
I have been listening to house music since I was 14, and I love it. That is all ;-)

Who are your inspirations?
Craig bennet and rob cockerton ;-) big up you two!

What project are you most proud of?
A few really, I have a remix out on vacation amongst loads of remixes and originals signed to roostar and electric kink records coming out sooonish! I have a new original coming out on new hope records in a month or so called ‘jumpin’, defo one of my best to date ;-)

Any last words....?
boom

So there you have it. Matt's single 'Jumpin' is due out soon on A New Hope Records and will feature remixes from the A New Hope crew. For those of you living in a dark cave in the middle of nowhere here is a taste of what this boy is capable of; slick beats, rolling percussion and basslines that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Plus he's quite fond of ducks. Fact.

Grab yourself some copies of his latest bootlegs, rerubs and wobble here. And yes, you're not seeing things, that is a remix of everyones favourite Geordie telescammers PJ & Duncan. And if that's not enough there's an exclusive mix from Matt too! Badabing!

A New Hope Records Up & Running

We hit the stores recently with not one, but two, quality releases in the wobbly shape of Jackinori - 'Ba Bada' and
Douster - 'This Shit'. Both come with a stack of quality remixes from the A New Hope stable and each one brings a fresh flavour. Don't believe us, then check the DJDownload player at the bottom of the page.

2 Bit Thugs - Bad Boys For Life...

Photobucket

The 2 Bit Thugs have been causing a stir with their unique brand of 'gangster house' which blends their hip hop background with cone-blowing basslines, rolling 4/4 beats & rudeboy rapping.

We got involved with the thugs early on in their career and it was a wise move. Since then they have gone on to remix some of the scenes top names including The Bulgarian, Kelevra, Jackinori, Matt Cox, Douster and many more.

Their remixes of Jackinori - Ba Bada & Douster - This Shit (A New Hope) are currently racing up the DJDownload charts, and rightly so. So if you haven't been hit too hard by the credit crunch support the cause!

Alongside being remixers du jour their original tracks have pricked the ears of DJs, press and promoters worldwide and have lead to them having an increasingly hectic DJ schedule.

We bagged their cracking basline wobbler 'A Good Look' for A New Hope so keep your eyes peeled and your ear to the ground cause we got some pretty tasty names lined up for the remix duties!

We also just got their remix of B-Rich's banger 'Everyday Hustle' (A New Hope) and it sounds fresh. Check it out on the Thugs Myspace.

But its not all wonk/fidget/gangster house. Rumour has it the Thugs are currently working on an album that will be back to their original hip hop, soul, funk, breaks roots and will feature some collaborations with vocalists from around the globe.
We've been lucky enough to hear a few preliminary tracks and trust us, you won't be disappointed!

When not DJing, remixing or writing their own stuff the Thugs also like to dabble in bootlegs and have a series of 'ReRubs' available; taking tunes they liked and giving them that distinctive 2 Bit touch. Cause we're generous guys and gals here at A New Hope we thought we'd let you grab a copy of the 2 Bit Thugs latest bad boy ReRub...

Welcome to A New Hope Records Blog

Photobucket

A New Hope Records is a Birmingham based brand new music initiative, set up with the intentions of providing the freshest and biggest tracks available.

Having devoted considerable time to forging relationships within the industry, we have created a basis for ourselves that new independent records labels rarely have. These relationships exist within key publications, influential brands, relevant radio stations and internationally renowned house music Djs and artists.

Industry connections aside, the most important aspect of A New Hope Records is the music. With our obvious devotion to quality and flare, we have managed to secure continued work from some of the underground's most respected artists. In addition to this we have scoured the planet in search of the finest unsigned talents in house music – to much avail. With this combination of time-honoured producers and fresh faces, we are now offering forwards a catalogue of music that will change the house music scene forever.
